From our earliest sketches to the moment your polo arrives at your door, we are still working on how this is made. We won't claim perfection. We are a young brand, still growing, still learning, still improving. What we can promise is honesty, intention, and action.

With every first step, we move closer to our goal. We are not where we want to be yet. For us, this is a journey, and we are taking it seriously.

So read this page as a record rather than a brochure. Where I do not have a specific fact to give you yet, it is marked as missing instead of filled in with something vague.

SPEC // MATERIALS

What the fabric is.

The fabric is a custom blend of 50% bamboo viscose and 50% cotton. The factory that produces the polo holds OEKO-TEX certification for it.

MATERIAL 01

A fifty-fifty blend

Half bamboo viscose, half cotton. That blend is what produces the hand and the drape, and it is the part of Generation 0 I am most confident in.

MATERIAL 02

OEKO-TEX, held by the factory

OEKO-TEX certification means the materials are tested for hazardous chemicals. The certificate is held by the factory that produces the polo, not by SRIX. We do not hold it ourselves and do not present it as ours.

RELEASE NOTES // GENERATION 0 POLOGEN 0

Software ships with release notes. Clothing does not, and it should. Everything below is what I found by wearing and testing Generation 0 myself.

Publishing the flaws is the point of doing it. Once they are written down in public, you can hold us to them. If Generation 1 arrives without addressing this list, that failure is on the record too, and you can check it against this page.

What works

  1. 01 The fabric is the best thing about this garment. The hand, the flow, the way it falls. That is where Generation 0 is strongest, and everything else on this list is judged against it.
  2. 02 Slim and stretched through the shoulders and chest, then it falls away cleanly over the stomach instead of clinging.
  3. 03 The collar holds its shape. It has not broken down or curled through testing.
  4. 04 The back button earns its place in wind.

What doesn't

  1. 01 It runs long. That length is why it does not sit well with a cropped fit, and why it looks best tucked.
  2. 02 The fabric is thin. It is the part of this garment I rate highest, and it would still be better with more weight behind it. That is the change I want most in the next one.
  3. 03 The sleeve fit needs work. It is the part of the pattern I am least happy with, and it gets redrawn before Generation 1.
  4. 04 The current art is loud. The direction from here is quieter, and Generation 1 is where that should show.

What works

  1. 01 Keychain packaging comes from a private supplier in China. That supplier holds FSC Chain of Custody certification, certificate number 0165556, FSC code SAI-COC-012209, valid until 16 January 2029, covering cardboard packaging, corrugated paper packaging, and paper sacks and bags. FSC Chain of Custody covers the traceability of wood based material. The certificate is held by the supplier, not by SRIX.

What doesn't

  1. 01 Past those two suppliers, we do not have that visibility. As a startup we cannot control the practices of the factories we work with, and saying otherwise would be the kind of claim this page exists to avoid. Bringing production closer to home, to Oceania, is the answer to that: with production in this part of the world, the control sits with us rather than with someone we have to take on trust. It is an intention, not a date, and progress against it gets published here.

Polo packaging is supplied by noissue. SRIX is a member of noissue's Eco-Alliance, which means a tree is planted through One Tree Planted for every order SRIX places with them. GOAL 01

Made closer to home

Our polos are currently made in China, where bamboo viscose fabric production is highly specialised. Our aim is to bring production to Oceania as volumes allow. That is an intention, not a date, and we will publish progress against it here.

GOAL 02

Control over production

Right now we do not have full control over every supplier or their practices. Our aim is production in facilities we can name and check, with fabric, trims and packaging all accounted for.

GOAL 03

Quality leadership

Quality leadership means being judged on the product rather than on the description of it. When you receive a SRIX polo, you should be able to check how it was made rather than take our word for it. That confidence should come from what we have actually done, not from what we say.
